PETRO/CHEMICAL POLYMER

UNBEATABLE POLYMER FOR HARSH ENVIRONMENTS

The petro and chemical environments provide some of the most demanding environments on earth for parts and production equipment.

At temperatures of 400-500°F and exposure to oil, methane, sourgas, hydrogen sulfide, water, steam, brine, corrosion inhibitors, and more – Celazole® molded parts will perform, even through extended exposures that most plastics won’t survive.

#1

The only tested thermoplastic material to survive and not break under loads of 2,500 – 4,000 psi at speeds of 50 ft/min

INCREASE PRODUCTION

Celazole® PBI repeatedly outperforms PEEK in extreme environments where heat, chemical and frictional stress would normally reduce run times

SAFE AND RELIABLE

With the highest compressive strength of any unfilled resin, Celazole® PBI is a polymer you can trust in demanding circumstances

APPLICATIONS

Bearings

Maximum wear resistance and performance in high temperatures and chemically corrosive environments common in oil and gas fields

Bushings

Bushings made with Celazole® TL-60 have a 310°C (590°F) heat deflection temperature

Thrust washers

In a thrust washer comparison study, Celazole® PBI was the best wear grade material out of a group including PEEK, polyimide and PAI.

Valve seats

At 427°C (800°F), Celazole® PBI’s exceptionally high glass transition temperature and compressive strength imparts superior reliability in engines

Back up seals

Outstanding mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance properties make Celazole® PBI an excellent material choice for backup seals

Piston rings

Best-in-class wear rate performance under high pressure, high velocity, chemical environments and continuous use
